Sport Resolutions Publishes 2016/17 Annual Report

Sport Resolutions has had a record year with 227 case enquiries of which 85 resulted in a dispute resolution service being applied.

In announcing 2016/17 Annual Report, Sport Resolutions' Chairman Edwin Glasgow QC said:

“We must set the standards of entry at the highest level. We make no apology for rigorously sticking to those standards in only nominating the very best. The panels will undergo a full review in the spring of 2018 but we made some selective additions during the year to ensure that we have proper geographical representation within the UK, and that we can respond to changes in demand for our services.”

2016/17 has seen Sport Resolutions host a number of training seminars across the UK, attracting over 300 delegates which included the most senior directors and administrators from sporting bodies; international sportsmen and women; government departments; sports lawyers; sponsorship organisations; academics; students and television and newspaper journalists.

In May 2017, Sport Resolutions hosted its third Annual Conference in association with Winston & Strawn which was extremely well received by industry experts and attracted a high calibre of delegates and speakers, including Tyler Hamilton, Kelly Sotherton, Michael Jamieson, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and Dame Mary Peters.

Richard Harry, the Sport Resolutions Chief Executive added: “We are also indebted to the panel members, without whom we would not be able to provide the range of services that we do. The support that these individuals give to the sport sector in this country should not be underestimated and the least that I can do is to recognise their efforts here.”
