A-Rod challenges arbitrator bias

Rodriguez was originally suspended for 211 matches by Major League Baseball for his purported role in the Biogenesis Performance Enhancing Drugs Scandal. Arbitrator Frederic Horowitz has now reduced this suspension to 162 games on appeal.

Rodriguez now argues that his case should be put before a fair and impartial jury, rather than a sole arbitrator, and intends to take the case to the federal court. The appeal was heard in accordance with the grievance procedures of the league.

The Major League Baseball Player’s Association believes that the latest decision is ‘final and binding’.
