Mary is an experienced child protection barrister. She represents children, parents, social workers, police and others in court proceedings involving the neglect and abuse of children, particularly in disputed applications to remove children from their families to place them with adopters or foster parents.
She has extensive knowledge of child safeguarding issues and procedures and of resolving disputes. She also has experience of working in the public and political sectors, having previously worked in an advisory role in the House of Lords for 12 years. She is a rugby enthusiast.
