John Bevan QC
John worked as a Criminal barrister between 1970 and 2004. He was a member of Treasury Counsel at the Central Criminal Court 1983-1997 and then took Silk in 1997. He was also a Crown Court Recorder 1983-2004 and was then appointed a Circuit Judge in 2004. He was the Resident Judge at Luton Crown Court 2005-2011 before being appointed a Senior Circuit Judge, sitting at the Central Criminal Court 2011-2017. John also sat as an occasional member of the Court of Appeal Criminal Division 2007-2017 before retiring in September 2017. John has been a Bencher of Middle Temple since 2001. His sporting interests include rugby, cricket, rowing and tennis.
