After a degree in English, Elaine qualified as an accountant, working first in practice before moving into the not-for-profit sector. In 2001 Elaine left her native north-west England for London to take up the role of CFO at HCT Group, an award-winning social enterprise in the transport sector. Elaine moved into education in 2007, working first with the Institute of Education, University of London, then the Institute for Learning, in a Director of Finance role. In early 2015 she was appointed Director of Finance and Corporate Services at the British Paralympic Association.
In her spare time Elaine is a keen marathon runner. She is also a governor on the board of Hackney Community College, has previously held a number of roles in a voluntary capacity for not-for-profit organisations, and was a local councillor in the London Borough of Hackney between 2002 and 2006.
Elaine is a member of the Management Board and the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) at Sport Resolutions (UK), as well as being the Board Equality Champion.
