On 23 May 2017, weightlifter Sonny Webster was subject to an Out-of-Competition test at his home address. Analysis of Mr Webster’s urine sample returned an Adverse Analytical Finding for ostarine. Mr Webster was subsequently charged with an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) for the Presence of a Prohibited Substance under Anti-Doping Rule (ADR) 2.1. The NADP Tribunal consisting of Matthew Lohn (Chairman), Dr Kitrina Douglas and Dr Barry O’Driscoll determined that Mr Webster had not satisfied the evidential burden of proving that the violation was not intentional, imposing a period of Ineligibility of four (4) years. Mr Webster’s ban will run from 14 June 2017, the date of Provision Suspension, until midnight on 13 June 2021.
