Richard has been Chief Executive at Sport Resolutions since April 2016. Richard has been with Sport Resolutions since July 2010 and spent almost six years as firstly Dispute Resolution Manager and then Legal Director. Richard is a sports lawyer and former Chief Executive of the Welsh Rugby Players' Association. Richard started his career as a specialist employment and sports lawyer at Hugh James Solicitors in Cardiff before joining Clarke Willmott in Bristol. He left Clarke Willmott to establish the Welsh Rugby Players' Association and has acted as a Consultant to the World Anti-Doping Agency.
Head of Case Management
Catherine joined Sport Resolutions in May 2016, making the move to the UK from Canada, where she worked in a similar position as the sole Case Manager at the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada. Catherine is Head of Secretariat of the National Anti-Doping Panel. She has a Masters in International Sports Law from ISDE (Madrid, Spain) and has substantial case management experience from working at the Federal Court of Canada and from having appeared before the Court of Arbitration for Sport on numerous occasions. Catherine is fluent in English and French and was a competitive gymnastics coach for several years.
Ross is Business Manager and Company Secretary at Sport Resolutions. He is in charge of centre management, human resources, financial administration, director support and organising Board and committee meetings. Ross joined us from Morgan Cole Solicitors in Bristol where he worked as a Legal Assistant. His interest in sports law developed during his degree at Swansea University and he has a particular interest in anti-doping. He is currently studying for a Masters in Sports Law and Practice at De Montford University. Ross competes in triathlon and he is a sub-10 hour Ironman triathlete.
James joined Sport Resolutions in August 2016, moving from Johannesburg, South Africa where he previous worked as Sponsorship Business Account Director which involved working closely with corporate businesses and their sporting sponsorship properties to ensure effective rights delivery. James has an Honours degree in sports management, with a keen focus on the marketing business of sport and the importance of offering a personalized fan experience. Other interests beside sport include specialty coffee, photography and exploring the U.S.A.
Kylie joined Sport Resolutions is March 2015 and is part of the Case Management Department. She is responsible for managing Sport Resolutions' varied caseload, including referrals to the National Anti-Doping Panel and the National Safeguarding Panel, along with other ad hoc referrals that Sport Resolutions receives. Kylie has a Masters degree in Sports Law from Nottingham Trent University and plays hockey for Blackheath and Old Elthamians Hockey Club in her spare time.
Matt joined Sport Resolutions in August 2015, and is a member of the case managment department. Matt is a graduate from Loughborough University with a degree in Sport Management. During his final year he wrote a dissertation on the social and economical impact of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Matt is a keen golfer and also enjoys Esports. Matt is currently being sponsored by Sport Resolutions to study a Post Graduate Certificate in Sports Law.
Alisha is the newest member of our case managment department. Having previously worked as a Projects Officer in Sports Development at London Sport and most recently at The Law Society in Accreditations. She has completed her PG Certificate in Sports Law and Practice through De Montfort University. Alisha has a keen interest in athletics as she used to compete in 100m and 200m as well as coach at Croydon Harriers.
Business Support Officer
Richard joined Sport Resolutions in July 2016 and is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations and marketing of Sport Resolutions' Arbitration & Mediation Centre. Richard has completed several sports related courses including a COHE in Sport and Fitness Management and more recently his Honours Degree in Sport and Exercise Performance. Richard is also a huge fan of Team GB and had the honour of handing out the Last Gold Medal of the London 2012 Olympic Games during the Closing Ceremony.
