Sport Resolutions

Panels

The service is delivered by members of the Sport Resolutions Panel. At the present time there are three Panels – the Panel of Arbitrators (65 members), the Panel of Mediators (25 members) and the National Anti-Doping Panel (16 members).  Panel members have recently been appointed for a three year period to 31 March 2011.

Sport Resolutions (UK) provides access to a world class panel of dispute resolution experts who are recruited for their unique understanding of sport. In 2007 rigorous new selection criteria were introduced to set higher standards of entry onto the Panel. Panel members support the existence of an independent service for the fair, speedy and effective resolution of sports disputes in the United Kingdom at an affordable cost. Members of the Panel also subscribe to a Panel Members Code of Conduct which is designed to protect the integrity of the Panels and to ensure that the Sport Resolutions Service is professionally delivered in the interests of sport.

The Panels offer a broad level of experience and specialisation across a full range of areas including discipline, anti-doping, selection, child welfare, personal injury, intellectual property, commercial, employment and professional negligence.

The Panel Appointments and Review Board

The Sport Resolutions Board delegates responsibility for overseeing the membership and operation of the Panels to a sub-committee of the Board, the Panel Appointments and Review Board (“PARB”).
