Events Intern

Sport Resolutions is a not-for-profit organisation established by key stakeholders in sport to provide an independent dispute resolution service for the UK sport system. We provide arbitration, mediation and training and consultancy services. We also operate national tribunals for sport such as the UK National Anti Doping Panel and the National Safeguarding Panel.

Job Purpose

The post holder will assist with the planning, marketing and delivery and ticket sales of Sport Resolutions’ 2015 conference, seminar programme and new membership programme. As a member of a small team of seven, the post holder will also provide general support and cover to other events held at Sport Resolutions’ arbitration and mediation centre.

Key Objectives


- To support the planning, marketing and delivery of Sport Resolutions’ events and promotions

- To assist in the sales of tickets to Sport Resolutions’ 2015 conference, seminar programme and membership programme

- To provide general administrative support to events held at Sport Resolutions’ arbitration and mediation centre

Key Tasks

Working largely under the direction of the Office Manager and Marketing Assistant to provide support with:

•    planning and promoting delivery of Sport Resolutions 2015 Conference (which is to be held on 14 May 2015);
•    planning and promoting delivery of Sport Resolutions 2015 Seminar programme;
•    planning and executing marketing campaigns
•    developing Sport Resolutions’ marketing contact database
•    contacting customers by telephone to sell tickets for conference, seminars and Sport Resolutions’ new membership programme
•    Putting together delegates packs and badges
•    liaising with event suppliers and delegates
•    providing administrative, reception cover and catering support to events held at Sport Resolutions’ arbitration and mediation centre

Person Specification

•    A degree/professional qualification, or working towards a degree/ professional qualification with an events management component OR two years experience working in events management;
•    A strong interest and knowledge of sport;
•    Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal;
•    Outgoing personality, confident on the  telephone  and effective at building rapport;
•    Ability to work accurately, paying great attention to detail;
•    Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team.
•    Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner;
•    Flexible and willing to provide general support and cover as required;  
•    Good administrative and IT skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel;
•    Some experience of using specialist marketing software and of website editing;
•    Commitment to equal opportunities and safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults;
